Gary Neville breaks silence on Liverpool Premier League title win.
“It’s an incredible achievement to win any title,” he said. “It’s been coming for a couple of years, they’ve been knocking on the door. Last season, with what Manchester City did, they had to be at their absolute best.
“Jurgen Klopp, the job he’s done has been absolutely fantastic. I thought when he came to Liverpool four years ago, it would be almost impossible for him to deliver a title with the spending power of City, United, Chelsea. I thought it would be so difficult.
“He’s turned £30m players into £130m players. He’s turned £75m players into £150m players. Those other clubs have invested £130m and made them into £30m.
“The recruitment has been brilliant, the coaching has been brilliant and it all comes from the manager, and the players fall into line.
“Great achievement. Something in particular that I don’t like, it’s a day I never wanted to see again. I’ve seen enough of it in my childhood years and I’ve had to witness it again in the last few weeks, but you obviously have to congratulate the title winners. It’s been a brilliant performance.”
